Saint Etienne are an English indie dance act, fronted by Sarah Cracknell (born 12 April 1967, Chelmsford, Essex). Former music journalists Bob Stanley (born 25 December 1964) and Pete Wiggs (born 15 May 1966) are the other regular members of the band.

Monade is a Bordeaux, France-based post-rock band which was initially a side project of Lætitia Sadier, one half of Stereolab. In the late 1990s, the All-City imprint released a 7″ split of Monade’s “Ode to a Keyring”/”Witch Hazel” [the b-side of the split featured materials by post-rock group, M, featuring David Pajo of Slint].

Mazzy Star was an American alternative rock band formed in Santa Monica in 1989 from the group Opal, a collaboration of guitarist David Roback and bassist Kendra Smith. Smith’s friend Hope Sandoval became the group’s vocalist when Smith left the band.

Daniel Victor Snaith (born 1978) is an electronic musician recording under the stage name Caribou. Snaith grew up in Dundas, Ontario (which is also the name of a song from his debut album Start Breaking My Heart) and studied mathematics at the University of Toronto and later at Imperial College London (PhD).

M83 is an electronic music group consisting of Anthony Gonzalez (and formerly Nicolas Fromageau), & was formed in Antibes, France in 2001. The musical style owes something to the shoegazing genre in its extensive use of reverb effects and lyrics spoken softly over loud instrumentals, though M83′s songs employ considerably less guitar than most shoegazing bands.
