RocknRolla is a 2008 British crime film written and directed by Guy Ritchie, and starring Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, and Tom Wilkinson.
It was filmed in London and released on 5 September 2008 in the United Kingdom, hitting #1 in the UK box office in its first week of release. It was given a limited release on October 8, 2008 in Canada and United States, followed by a wide expansion on October 31.
Plot: When Russian mobster sets up a real-estate scam in London, all the underworld characters appear to get their share of the multi-million euro deal up for grabs. Some of those characters are small-time crooks like One-Two (Gerard Butler), Johnny Quid (Toby Kebbell), a scheming accountant Stella (Thandie Newton) and London’s big shot mobster Lenny Cole (Tom Wilkinson). But the prize winner is an unlikely hero – a rock star thought to be dead, but very much alive the RocknRolla!
