Bart Got a Room is a 2008 comedy film written and directed by Brian Hecker, and starring Steven Kaplan, William H. Macy, and Cheryl Hines.
The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 25, 2008, and also appeared in the Maui Film Festival on June 12, 2008. Also appearing in the film are Alia Shawkat, Chad Jamian Williams, Mike Benitez, Ashley Benson, Carrie Drazek, Brandon Hardesty, and Kate Micucci. Filming took place in Florida. It was released to theaters around the country on April 3, 2009.
Plot: The film chronicles nerdy high school senior Danny Stein (Kaplan) and his attempts to secure a prom date, while his father and mother (played by Macy and Hines, respectively) search independently for love. The film’s name comes from the fact that the school’s biggest nerd, Bart Beeber (Williams), has not only secured a date for the prom, but gotten a hotel room as well.
